If you opt to carry out your own Ofgem / ROC administrationFor Ofgem to accredit your renewable technology you must complete the appropriate Ofgem registration. To do this you must register and apply online at www.renewablesandchp.ofgem.gov.uk A user guide for the system can be found at:www.ofgem.gov.uk/Sustainability/Environmnt/RCHPreg/Pages/RCHPreg.aspx ( PDF document).
You will need to have a suitable meter installed to measure generation. If you do not have a suitable meter you should contact your installer who can arrange this for you. If you already have a generation meter installed please click here to ensure it is Ofgem approved( Receiving payment for ROCsOfgem will require you to read this meter on a set date each month or year and submit the reading to Ofgem. Ofgem round up 500kWh to 1 NIROC and less than 500kWh is rounded down. Ofgem will credit your NIROC account with the appropriate number of NIROCs, and once these are transferred to NIE Energy NIROC account, NIE Energy will send you a bank transfer for the appropriate amount (usually July). For larger generators who submit monthly readings to Ofgem, a quarterly transfer of NIROCs to the NIE Energy NIROC account will take place and a bank transfer for the appropriate amount arranged.
