Discounted Electricity Now at Your Post Office Branch
28 Jun 2010
You might be surprised to hear that you can now get discounted electricity from your local Post Office branch.
Local energy company NIE Energy, has joined forces with Post Office Ltd to offer this new service.
It will now be handier than ever for the quarter of a million householders in Northern Ireland, who get discounted electricity from NIE Energy through their ‘pay as you go’ Keypad, to buy a ‘top up’ at your Post Office Branch.
Helen from NIE Energy said: “NIE Energy’s Keypad has proved so popular because we give discount off every unit of electricity used and also because it is easy and convenient to top up.
“We are delighted to have joined with Post Office Ltd to make buying electricity even easier for our Keypad customers. You can now walk in to your Post Office Branch and buy a top up from as little as £5 for your Keypad, much in the same way as you would for a mobile phone.
“With nearly 250,000 homes in Northern Ireland paying for their electricity with a pay as you go Keypad from NIE Energy, make sure you are not missing out. We will arrange for a Keypad to be installed for free and you get 2.5% uncapped discounted off the standard unit price.”
Post Office Ltd’s Rob McCloy added: “The Post Office has one of the biggest retail presences in the country so buying top-ups for pay-as-you-go electricity couldn’t be easier. We are delighted to be working in partnership with NIE Energy to provide this service to our customers.”
