Cashback for Christmas Up for Grabs

Daring to mention that Christmas is coming, there is a very good reason for bringing up the subject of the season of goodwill in November.

NIE Energy has announced an early Christmas present of up to £300 cashback, available to customers who want to save money off energy bills.

The local energy company knows times are tight and is offering some practical, financial help. NIE Energy has a scheme giving up to £150 off the cost of loft and another £150 off the cost of cavity wall insulation. As over half of all heat lost in an average home is lost through the roof and walls, installing insulation is one of the simplest energy saving measures to help you save around £200 each year on your energy bills.

Chris Bell from NIE Energy said: “NIE Energy will give you up to £300 cashback off the cost of insulating your home. Insulation helps to make your home warmer and more comfortable and by reducing the amount of fuel you need to buy, you can help control your heating bills.”

In most houses built after the 1920s, the external walls are made of two layers with a small air gap or cavity between them. If your home has unfilled cavity walls, a considerable slice of your energy bills will be spent heating the air outside. Having cavity wall insulation installed can save between £130 and £160 per year off heating bills.

With £150 cashback and savings of around £180-£220 a year, loft insulation pays for itself in just over two years. Cavity wall insulation, with savings of £130-£160 per year and with £150 cashback pays for itself in around two years.
NIE Energy is hoping as many customers as possible will apply for the cashback insulation scheme. Although the company warns, it’s first come, first served! Available to all householders and private rented tenants across Northern Ireland.
