Enews Flash sparks a winner in North Belfast

A North Belfast man has walked away with a spanking new laptop, courtesy of NIE Energy and Open and Direct Insurance.

John Higgins from North Belfast signed up for NIE Energy’s online news letter - ‘enews Flash’, which keeps customers up to date and energy wise. Along with Open and Direct Insurance, NIE Energy offered a laptop as a prize to customers who gave feedback about the enews and energy saving tips.

NIE Energy’s Kathryn Kyle and John Laverty from Open and Direct recently met with winner John Higgins to present him with his prize and learn more about how he saves energy around the home.

Winner John said: “I pay for the electric I use as I go along with a Keypad meter. The Keypad comes with a handy monitoring device which can show you how much electricity you are using at that time. I used it to demonstrate to my wife the cost of running the six spotlights in the kitchen. I have now been able to convert to low wattage bulbs, costing one twelfth the cost to run.

John went on: “ I signed up to NIE Energy’s enews a few months back and it is great for letting me know the latest offers, competitions and NIE Energy news.”

Kathryn from NIE Energy added: “We started sending out an electronic newsletter a few months ago and the response from customers has been fantastic.
