Conditions and Criteria
The following conditions will be applied to Housing Associations:
- Grant must be used to support the capital and installation costs of a renewable energy scheme. As a general rule this includes only the equipment itself and related works specific to the functionality of that equipment.
- Scheme must be located within Northern Ireland.
- System must be designed, installed and commissioned by a Registered installer who has a link with a LCBP Framework supplier.
- Schemes must use accredited products (www.lowcarbonbuildingsphase2.org.uk).
- Grants are only available for the installation of new components, re-used or refurbished components are not permissible.
- Grant applied for must be a maximum of 15% of total capital and installation costs, or technology cap level, whichever is lesser. Associations which secure additional funding may be given preference in order to maximise the number of projects.
- All statutory approvals must be in place e.g. Building Control, Planning Permission.
- Applicant must provide an estimate of the annual energy output of the system.
- Grants must be claimed within 12 months of a grant offer being made by NIE.
- Applicant must allow access to the installation for inspection purposes by the scheme manager (or other appointed by the scheme manager) if required.
- Applicant must agree to participate in NIE publicity and case study material. (This is referred to in the existing NIE grant contract).
- Applicants receiving funding for the renewable installation from any other NIE programme will not be funded through the Housing Association top up.
