'Energy Greedy' appliances: be aware of the energy greedy appliances in your home and put them on a diet. For example, a tumble dryer on for two hours per week costs over £67 per year to run.

Tumble dryer 65p per hour (based on 4,900 watts)
Immersion heater 40p per hour (based on 3,000 watts)
Dishwasher 29p per hour (based on 2,250 watts)
Power shower 22p per 10 mins
Electric bar fire 16p per bar / per hour (based on 1,200 watts)

Get switched on to switching off: leaving appliances on constant standby can cost over £100 a year. Not good news for the person paying the electric bill!
